This organisation, World Basic Income, exists to campaign for the introduction of a universal and unconditional cash payment, provided regularly to every person in the world, to spend as they see fit. We work to:

Research and articulate the vision

World basic income and the people's dividend are emerging ideas, and further exploration of every aspect of them is needed. Lessons from cash transfer programmes and basic income pilots as well as from tax justice organisations and global social movements are being pulled together, analysed, and used to articulate options for implementing cash dividends at a world scale.​

Experiment

We are devising experiments to test out micro versions of the people's dividend proposal. This includes exploring potential funding mechanisms for the dividend, and exploring the effects of cash payments for real people. These experiments will demonstrate the potential of the people's dividend, and will provide a foundation that can later be scaled up.

Build the momentum towards establishing a World Basic Income

A worldwide people's dividend, or world basic income, is a fairly new idea. We are working with social movements, trade unions, education and research bodies, political parties, national and international organisations, governments and other networks all over the world, to understand how people and communities could benefit from a regular cash share, and invite them to be part of the movement to bring it about. ​
